About Britni.
I graduated with a Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. I also hold an Associate in Applied Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Rose State College and a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University.

Although I have experience in various areas of the law, my zone of genius includes drafting legal documents, negotiating, and case management stemming from over a decade of experience working as a certified paralegal. Working as a certified paralegal before, during, and after law school allowed me to gain invaluable real-world legal and client management experience before becoming a licensed attorney and opening my own law practice.

During law school, I was involved in a host of organizations and served in several capacities such as Secretary of the Future Lawyers for Children Student Association. I also maintained a position as a Case Manager/Paralegal for a nonprofit organization that provides pro bono attorney representation for abused and neglected children, managing close to 200 juvenile deprived, guardianship, and adoption cases from intake to disposition. I represented those same children at emergency custody hearings when I earned a Limited License to Practice Law as a Licensed Legal Intern while still in law school. In addition to this position, I supervised court-ordered child visitation and exchanges, earned several pro bono awards for providing over 150 hours of pro bono community service work to local organizations with missions to protect vulnerable populations, and interned in the Legal Division of the Department of Human Services (DHS) conducting legal research and assisting with the prosecution of cases against those that have been accused of abusing vulnerable (elderly and mentally disabled) adults. While interning with DHS, I noticed that the Rules on Licensed Legal Internship did not account for Licensed Legal Interns representing DHS in administrative hearings. I went on to persuade the Oklahoma Bar Association Legal Internship Committee to amend the Rules and participated in the Legal Internship Committee meeting where the proposed Rule was voted on. Afterwards, the Rule was presented to the Board of Governors, published for review by members, and then sent to the Oklahoma Supreme Court for review, approval, and issuance of a new Order for the Rule's adoption. That Rule became Rule 7.9(b) of the Rules of the Supreme Court of the State of Oklahoma on Licensed Legal Internship. Attending law school as a wife and mother of three young children was no small feat but was a very rewarding experience. Needless to say, I know how to multi-task!

I am passionate about advocacy for vulnerable populations and collaborative dispute resolution. My first experience with conflict resolution was in middle school when I served as a "peer mediator" to help resolve conflicts among my classmates. It was at this time that I realized I had a knack for building rapport and creative thinking to find a solution that works for all parties involved. I have used these skills throughout my legal career. I am able to remain calm and levelheaded during high conflict situations and am often the voice of reason when emotions are running high. For cases that have an element of domestic violence, I have participated in various domestic violence trainings and more specifically trauma-informed care training. I am able to use this training to effectively communicate with survivors of all ages that have had to endure abuse and trauma of all kinds. Being a certified civil and family mediator in Oklahoma as well as Texas, I often encourage clients to settle disputes collaboratively rather than adversarial. However, when negotiations break down and a compromise cannot be reached, I am prepared to advocate for my clients in the courtroom.
As a solo practitioner, I am selective in the number of cases that I accept because I personally handle each file and communication. Clients will benefit from streamlined processes and direct communication with me rather than having to leave messages with the legal assistant. I pride myself on providing ethical, quality legal services and showing an unmatched dedication to every case I handle. I credit my work ethic to my parents who instilled in me early on the importance of working hard and maintaining resiliency.
